Mussorgsky/Ravel, Pictures at an Exhibition
A special note about our Winter Concert: The APO is collaborating with the Colinas Del Norte Elementary School and Sue Cleveland High School art departments. Mussorgsky wrote Pictures at an Exhibition based on paintings he saw at an art exhibit. Viktor Hartmann, a dear friend of Mussorgsky, died suddenly, and after the funeral his friends put on an art exhibit of 400 of Hartmann's paintings. Mussorgsky chose ten of those paintings to paint musically. We are asking the students to listen to the music, and then create artwork based on what they hear.....the reverse of what Mussorgsky did. We will display the artwork at both Sue Cleveland High School and NHCC.
All Concerts are Free to the Public!
